Coffee Hour

A beloved ministry and time of connection here at St. John's Worthington, Coffee Hour takes place between our two Sunday services.  Immediately following our 9 am service, coffee, tea, and light refreshments are available in the Atrium thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers.  While many grab a beverage and snack to take to the Sunday Morning Forum, some parishioners enjoy Coffee Hour on its own, while still others arrive later in the morning prior to the 11:15 am service.  The most special part of Coffee Hour, perhaps, is seeing our youngest members gather on a small patch of carpet for "kiddie coffee hour," observed by nearby parents.

Volunteers are always needed to grow our ranks and keep this treasured ministry afloat!  Sign up sheets are circulated quarterly during services, and then posted in the Atrium.  You may sign up to prepare coffee and hot drinks only, to supply the refreshments, or to do both.  Shadowing an existing host or specific training are provided as needed and requested.

Singles Dining Out

Singles Dining Out (SDO) is an informal group of St. John’s parishioners and friends who like to eat out but enjoy the company of others while dining. Singles and married individuals who will be attending without their spouse are welcome to participate, and participants are welcome to invite a friend or colleague who is not a member of St. John’s.  Singles Dining Out typically meets once a month except for December, and participants take turns choosing a restaurant.  Delicious meals and good conversation have been shared all over Columbus at restaurants including Hunan Lion, Cuco’s Taqueria, Akai Hana, Marcella’s, Café Istanbul, Olive and Lime, NAPA Kitchen+Bar, Figlio, Polaris Grill, and Fiesta Jalisco.  Much friendly conversation and fellowship abounds in these gatherings, allowing new friendships to be formed and old friendships to be strengthened. New participants are always welcome!
